Abbeyleix Manor Hotel opens premium outdoor padel courts in Laois

Abbeyleix Manor Hotel opened two new outdoor padel courts at its Abbeyleix property in County Laois, branding the facility Padel at Pollys and adding another premium hospitality venue to Ireland’s expanding padel map. Playtomic lists two outdoor, double, panoramic courts at the hotel, turning the site at R32 VE24 into more than a place to stay.

The launch matters because it is not being sold as a standalone court build. Abbeyleix Manor describes itself as a luxury hotel in Laois, and the padel courts give it another asset for overnight guests, events and local players who want a high-spec setting rather than a basic municipal install. Abbeyleix Manor said the project had been “2 years in the works” before announcing that “The Manor Padel is now officially open for the public.”

The planning trail shows how much went into getting the facility over the line. Laois County Council file 2560631 was received and validated on 1 October 2025, further information was requested on 25 November 2025 and returned on 20 February 2026, and the record lists the application as finalised with a decision due date of 19 March 2026. That kind of paperwork is part of the difference here: this was a planned venue addition at a hotel, not a quick court drop-in.

Abbeyleix Manor’s launch also fits a wider pattern in Irish padel. Adare Manor already operates a dedicated Padel Club, which puts another luxury hotel into the same lane, using padel as an amenity that can pull in visitors and create a reason to linger on-site. For Irish venues with the land, the brand and the room inventory, padel is starting to look less like an add-on and more like a playbook.
