Ajago wins USL Championship Goal of the Week with bicycle kick
Forster Ajago’s bicycle kick won USL Championship Week 19/20 Goal of the Week, turning Sacramento Republic FC’s 1-1 draw at Charleston Battery into the league’s most replayed finish of the week. The official USL Championship account shared the highlight on July 23, after fans had voted through Wednesday, July 22, at midnight ET.
Ajago’s strike came in Sacramento’s July 18 trip to Patriots Point in Charleston, South Carolina. Republic FC forward Forster Ajago put Sacramento ahead early in the second half before Emilio Ycaza converted from the penalty spot to bring Charleston back level. The match finished 1-1, with Sacramento leaving with a point after a game that produced one of the week’s standout individual moments.
The bicycle kick was one of several nominees in the league’s Week 19/20 roundup, which was posted July 20 and drew from a slate of matches that produced “a historic hat trick and plenty of impressive goals.” Sacramento Republic FC also moved quickly to push the finish into the voting conversation, publishing its own “Vote Now: Ajago’s Bicycle Score Nominated for Goal of the Week” post on July 20.

Ajago joined the club ahead of the 2026 campaign, after Sacramento announced on December 9, 2025 that it had signed the 24-year-old striker following a 2025 season in which he scored seven goals in 22 appearances across all competitions for Lexington SC. That spell came while he was on loan from Real Salt Lake.
