Atlético Dallas acquires Dallas Trinity FC, unites pro soccer under one roof

Atlético Dallas acquired Dallas Trinity FC, placing both North Texas professional clubs under USL Dallas, LLC. The move was announced June 30, 2026, and keeps Dallas Trinity FC in the Gainbridge Super League under its existing name and identity.

The deal comes as Atlético Dallas prepares to enter USL Championship play in 2027, with USL’s 2027 season scheduled to begin in March. The club will play at the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Fair Park after the Dallas Parks and Recreation Board and the Dallas City Council unanimously approved a three-year license agreement for the venue. Atlético Dallas is also investing in improvements to the Dallas Soccer Complex and in a future headquarters near Fair Park.

For Dallas Trinity FC, the acquisition folds the women’s pro club into a larger soccer operation. The team was founded in 2023 and began play in 2024, becoming the first professional women’s soccer team in Dallas. In its inaugural season, Dallas Trinity FC finished third, earned a playoff berth and reached the USL Super League semifinals before losing to Tampa Bay Sun FC.

Its State Fair Clásico against Club América Femenil drew 22,838 fans and set a Texas attendance record for a professional women’s sporting event.

Charlie Neil said Dallas Trinity FC was built on the community’s belief in women’s pro soccer and thanked supporters for their role in establishing the club. Atlético Dallas founder and chairman Matt Valentine praised the Neil family for building the foundation that made the transaction possible.
