BDSc Yr 2 wins 2026 Dodgeball Cup title
BDSc Yr 2 has been named the winner of the 2026 Dodgeball Cup, and UQDSA marked the result with a trophy-focused Instagram post on Aug. 3. The University of Queensland Dental Students’ Association thanked everyone who participated and supported the event, turning a brief update into the clearest championship marker yet for its new dodgeball competition.
The victory carries extra weight because UQDSA described Dodgeball Cup 2026 as its first ever dodgeball cup. In promotional material, the association listed the event for 5:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the QUT Tennis & Basketball Courts in Kelvin Grove, placing the tournament squarely inside the student social calendar of a dental association that runs general events every year.

The available announcement did not show a final score, a runner-up, or a bracket, so the title line is doing all the heavy lifting. Even so, BDSc Yr 2’s name now sits at the top of a competition that was clearly important enough for UQDSA to give it its own winners graphic rather than folding it into a larger roundup. That makes the cohort the first reference point for the cup’s competitive pecking order.

The team name also fits the campus dodgeball culture UQDSA is drawing from, where year-level or program-based squads compete under labels that turn a simple sport into a class-vs-class contest. For BDSc Yr 2, the win is more than one good night with a trophy image attached. It sets the standard for the next edition of the cup and gives future entrants a title they will now have to chase.

With the first championship assigned, Dodgeball Cup has already produced a benchmark result for UQDSA’s broader events lineup. The association’s annual calendar now has a new title to defend, and BDSc Yr 2 owns the first claim to it.
