Black Mambas lead RKL Recess Kickball League after Week 4 update

Black Mambas grabbed the top spot in the RKL Recess Kickball League standings after the Week 4 update, sitting at 3-0-1 with a plus-12 run differential and a .875 winning percentage. The Brooklyn table mattered even more because every team had played the same number of games, giving the league its first clean look at who had actually separated in the race.

That separation started with margin as much as record. Black Mambas were unbeaten in regulation play and were winning by enough to build a cushion on the differential side, a useful edge in a standings system that tracks record, run differential and winning percentage side by side. Juice Crew stayed close to the front of the field, but Black Mambas paired their unbeaten form with the sharper number in the run column, and that combination is what put them alone at the top.

The lead carried extra weight because Black Mambas had already claimed the 2026 Juneteenth Classic, the tournament that opened the Brooklyn season on June 19. Recess Kickball League, established in 2020, presents its Brooklyn competition with Glasses Global and lists adidas US as a partner, a sign of how a neighborhood rec league has built a more polished competitive identity. The league’s Instagram profile also showed 4,730 followers and 1,215 following, evidence that the standings posts are drawing a real audience around the season rather than simply documenting casual pickup play.

Juice Crew had set an early pace of its own. In the Week 2 standings, the club was 2-0-0 with a plus-9 differential and a 1.000 winning percentage, which made the Week 4 picture less about one runaway team and more about whether anyone could keep up over the first month. Week 3 player honors went to Chelsey Williams of OnlyPANS, while Elliott Curtis and Saba Mateos of Juice Crew earned honorable mentions, another sign that the top end of the league has already produced multiple standouts.

The bigger question now is whether Black Mambas are building a real gap or just leading the first wave of a crowded season. With the standings finally measured on equal footing after four rounds, the next stretch of Brooklyn games will decide whether the Mambas’ early control turns into a title chase or an outright march.
