Calum Barrett wins Muirkirk FootGolf full-course net result on -16

Calum Barrett won Muirkirk Golf Club’s full-course FootGolf net standings on -16 after the Saturday, August 8 round, with Cookie close behind on -14. The club’s August 9 results post showed a contest decided by just two shots at the top, a margin that makes Barrett’s score the clear benchmark in the field.

That -16 matters because Muirkirk framed the event as a full-course competition and tracked it as a full net result overall position, so the leaderboard reflects handicap-adjusted form rather than only raw kicking totals. In that setting, Barrett’s finish says as much about control and consistency as it does about scoring power. On a full golf course, the players who separate themselves are usually the ones who manage length, keep recovery kicks clean, and avoid the kind of errors that quickly erase a good card.

The visible leaderboard only went so far. A third line began with “Sir,” but the rest of the name was not visible in the excerpt, which leaves Barrett and Cookie as the only fully identifiable names from the top of the sheet. Even so, the shape of the result is clear: Muirkirk had a tight race at the front, and Barrett came through with the lowest net number in the portion of the standings shown.

The format also fits the wider way FootGolf is being organized. The official FIFG rulebook describes the sport as being played from the teeing zone, with each player aiming for the hole in the fewest kicks, and places a premium on player integrity and adherence to the rules. That makes club net results more than a casual scoreline. They are a measure of who is handling the course, the format, and the pressure of week-to-week competition.

Muirkirk’s result lands in a sport that now stretches well beyond local cards. The American FootGolf Federation says it introduced FootGolf to North America in 2011 and has spent more than a decade building structure around the game in the United States. FIFG’s FootGolf World Championship Acapulco 2026 was also active on June 6 with national team round-of-16 and quarterfinal coverage, a reminder that club leaders like Barrett are part of a larger competitive ladder. At Muirkirk, though, the number that counts right now is -16.
