Chichester Falcons host beginner-friendly kickball fundraiser at Oaklands Park
A £15 entry fee, a free-registration giveaway and a direct line to three GB U16 players made the Chichester Falcons’ kickball fundraiser more than a casual summer outing. The Chichester Falcons Baseball & Softball Club used the event at Oaklands Park in Chichester to pull in players, families and donors at the same time, with all proceeds going directly to the players’ families.
The tournament was scheduled for Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and the club pitched it as beginner-friendly and open to everyone. The message was broad enough to invite newcomers, but specific enough to remove friction: no experience was needed, ages 12 to 99 were welcome, and the club said it would sort teams for people arriving alone or with friends.
The fundraising purpose gave the event its edge. The Falcons said the money was being raised to help three GB U16 players get to the European Championships, turning a local kickball afternoon into a direct boost for the club’s youth pathway. That setup also gave supporters a clear connection between their registration fee and the destination of the money, a detail that usually matters when clubs are trying to convert casual interest into actual turnout.

The social pitch was built to widen the entry point. In one Instagram post, the club described the tournament as “a super fun, beginner-friendly kickball tournament” and added that participants could “win a free kickball registration.” The same post listed food and drink, raffle prizes and “a great atmosphere” among the event features, while a Facebook post framed it as a fundraiser for the club’s GB U16 juniors.
The event also appeared on third-party listings, including one that called it a teens-and-adults kickball tournament and another that labeled it a charity kickball tournament. Together, the posts showed a club using the same formula many local sports groups now rely on: a low-barrier, family-friendly format, a modest player fee, and a clear fundraising target tied to young athletes with a bigger stage ahead.
