Chipola sends nine Lady Indians to NCAA Division I programs
Chipola College sent nine members of its 2025-26 Lady Indians to NCAA Division I programs in the July 9 announcement. The Lady Indians finished 26-7, rose to No. 1 in the national polls and played through the postseason after a 70-45 loss to Gulf Coast State in the FCSAA title game on March 19 before heading to the NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Taylor Rietveld, a 6-1 forward who averaged 16.0 points and 7.1 rebounds while shooting 41.4 percent from three, landed at North Texas as a stretch forward. Serena Heeren, a 6-0 forward who averaged 12.8 points, 8.8 rebounds and blocked 59 shots, moved to UAB as a front-line scorer and rim protector. Arielle Facyson, a 5-7 guard, headed to Delaware State. Jaida Redwine, a 5-9 guard who averaged 4.0 assists per game, joined South Alabama. Tamiria Jones, a 5-9 guard, returned to Georgia Southern.

Samairah Thompson, a 5-10 forward, went back to Buffalo, where she had signed out of high school. Jazlyn Harris, a 5-8 guard, is back with Appalachian State. Samia Greene, a 5-7 guard from Washington, D.C., returned to Northeastern. Mariam Coulibaly, a 6-1 forward who posted 5.6 points and 7.0 rebounds at Chipola, signed with McNeese State.
Mitch Rolls said, “We’re incredibly proud of our student-athletes and all they have accomplished during their time at Chipola.” The staff works through the phone calls and tries to place players where they will actually play, not sit at the end of a bench.

Chipola sent three women to Division I in 2020, with Ariel Cummings going to West Virginia, Rachel Johnson to Wichita State and Caitlyn Wilson to Cincinnati. Chipola already had seven FCSAA/NJCAA Region championships and the 2015 national title when Rolls was hired in May 2024, then added Kanija Daniel’s 2024-25 NJCAA Division I Player of the Year season at 19.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.
