College Dodgeball spotlights recruiting advice in podcast with Wes Peters

College Dodgeball used its X account to steer followers to “Recruiting 101 with Wes Peters,” a podcast episode it said was available on Spotify and YouTube. The post’s framing was simple, “In case you missed it,” but the message underneath was bigger: recruiting has become one of the central jobs in college dodgeball, not an afterthought.

The episode fit neatly into the sport’s official media pipeline. The College Dodgeball YouTube channel identifies itself as the official YouTube channel of the National Collegiate Dodgeball Association, and its podcast playlist says, “Welcome to ‘The College Dodgeball Podcast’. Stay tuned for new episodes, as we cover all things college dodgeball!” That is not just branding. It is a recruiting funnel, with instructional content built for players, coaches and anyone trying to understand how a campus club becomes a roster.

Wes Peters gives that effort credibility. The July 23, 2026 listing for “S2 Ep 5: Recruiting 101 w/ Wes Peters” says Peters, who coaches at Northern Kentucky University and the University of Cincinnati, breaks down recruiting tips and tricks and previews the upcoming season for both the Women’s and Open Divisions. A transcript snippet adds that he coaches four different NCDA teams, which matters because recruiting advice from one program can miss the wider picture. Peters is speaking from across multiple rosters, not from a single sideline.

The episode also follows a pattern. An earlier College Dodgeball listing for “S1 Ep 1: Wes Peters” says he joined the podcast to chat about the first event of the 2023-24 season and discuss recruiting techniques. That makes recruiting a recurring subject in the series, not a one-off topic tossed in to fill airtime. For clubs trying to build before the next campus cycle, that is the useful part: the sport has already made recruiting part of its regular conversation.

College Dodgeball is backing that up with direct calls to action. Its July 19 “NDA | Dayton 2026” video included the line, “Start a team at your school (or get recruited),” while the X profile says, “We are the NCDA. We are college dodgeball. DM us to start up a team at your school!” The playbook is plain enough to copy: put the sport where athletes already are, explain the pathway in coach-led language, and end every piece of content with a clear next step.
