Colleges of the Fenway opens Summer B kickball registration
Colleges of the Fenway opened Summer B kickball and Kan Jam registration at New Sweeney Field, giving students, faculty and staff a short runway to get into a low-pressure league before games begin July 21. The sign-up window runs from July 3 through July 20, and the summer slate is built to fit around the quieter middle of the academic year.
The setup is straightforward and part of the appeal. Games will be played on Sweeney Field on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m., with all equipment provided. Teams must meet the co-ed requirement by carrying at least three female-identifying or three male-identifying players, a rule that keeps the league open to mixed rosters and makes it easier for students to plug in without needing a full club-sport commitment.

New Sweeney Field gives the program a clear home in Boston’s Fenway area, and the pairing with Kan Jam broadens the draw beyond pure kickball circles. The event listing frames Summer B as a chance to get outside, stay active and meet other members of the campus community, which matches the mission of the Colleges of the Fenway intramural sports program. COF says that mission is to provide opportunities that promote physical and emotional wellness for students, staff and faculty across the consortium.
That broader intramural model has been on display throughout the summer. Earlier in the season, the COF Summer A calendar included softball, spikeball and Kan Jam, showing that the consortium has been running a steady summer recreation schedule rather than a one-off event. Summer B continues that pattern with a short-format league that is scheduled to last three weeks.

The kickball home page says the game schedule and playoffs will be set after registration closes, which keeps the league flexible while still giving it structure. For a summer campus that can feel emptier between terms, the format is built for quick organization, easy entry and enough competition to keep the field busy. With registration open and a July 21 start date approaching, Summer B kickball is positioned as one of the clearest ways for the COF community to keep playing through August 4.
