Colts spotlight Indiana teams ahead of NFL FLAG Championships
The Colts welcomed two Indiana NFL FLAG teams ahead of their appearance at the 2026 NFL FLAG Championships presented by Toyota. The tournament will run July 23-26 at Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, with championship games scheduled for Sunday, July 26.
The NFL announced on Jan. 27 that the third annual championships would move to Westfield, and RCX Sports will operate the event at Droplight Grand Park Sports Campus. The venue, a 400-plus-acre complex with more than 30 multi-purpose fields, sits at 19000 Grand Park Blvd. and already serves as the home of Indianapolis Colts Training Camp.

That connection gives the championships a distinctly Indiana backdrop. The Colts’ event guide said the world’s best youth flag football players are coming to central Indiana, and local promotions have framed the weekend as a major draw for the Indianapolis metro area. Visit Indy and Indiana Sports Corp have also promoted the championships as a regional sports tourism moment, with Westfield positioned to host hundreds of teams and families from across the country.

The field is expected to be large, with local materials pointing to 350-plus teams and Colts materials noting elite competition from around the country as well as international participation from Mexico, Brazil, Spain and Canada. NFL FLAG says its broader program now includes 2,000-plus leagues and 830,000-plus youth athletes in all 50 states, a scale that helps explain why the championships have become a national benchmark for boys and girls flag football.

Kalen Jackson, an owner of the Indianapolis Colts, linked the event to the franchise’s youth-football push. "We’re proud to support the next generation of football right here in Indiana. Welcome to Indy." The message matched the Colts’ decision to put local teams in the spotlight before they step onto one of the sport’s biggest stages.

The pathway to Westfield runs through the NFL FLAG regional system, with all 32 NFL clubs hosting tournaments in the fall and spring that feed into the championships. By bringing the event to the same campus that hosts Colts training camp, the league and the franchise have turned a local facility into a visible pipeline for young players whose next stop could be national competition.
