CSI lands Rexburg native Berrett Wilson for 2026-27 roster

College of Southern Idaho kept building its 2026-27 men’s basketball roster with a local addition, announcing the signing of Berrett Wilson, a guard-forward from Madison High School in Rexburg, Idaho. CSI said Wilson will join the Golden Eagles for the 2026-2027 season, another step in a summer recruiting run that has already leaned heavily on Idaho talent.

For CSI, the Wilson pickup fits the way the program has traditionally operated: add players who can help immediately, keep the roster balanced and make sure the state’s best-known junior-college team stays connected to its own backyard. A Rexburg native gives the Golden Eagles another player fans in eastern Idaho can recognize, and that matters in a program where recruiting announcements are part roster news and part identity statement.

Wilson also lands in a spot where his position should matter. Listed as a guard-forward, he gives CSI a versatile piece for the wing rotation, the kind of player who can bridge backcourt and frontcourt duties when a roster is still being pieced together. That flexibility is valuable for a junior-college program that has to manage turnover every year and keep enough size, ballhandling and scoring on the floor to survive the NJCAA grind.

The addition comes after two other Idaho recruiting notes for CSI this month. On July 23, the Golden Eagles added an Idaho big man to the 2026-27 recruiting class, and on July 29 Preston native Kasen Bryce verbally committed to the program. Bryce will not arrive immediately because he plans to serve a mission, but the sequence of announcements shows CSI working aggressively through the late-summer recruiting cycle rather than waiting to fill holes later.

CSI’s 2026-2027 men’s basketball roster page is already populated, which is another sign the staff is laying out the next season well ahead of opening night. That matters in Twin Falls, where the Golden Eagles are still one of the most recognizable names in junior-college basketball and every roster move gets read as a sign of how serious the program is about staying nationally relevant.

Wilson’s signing gives CSI another Idaho piece in a class that already includes local connections, and that kind of pipeline can pay off twice: on the floor, where familiarity with regional competition helps, and off it, where homegrown players usually arrive with a better built-in understanding of what the program expects.
