CSI women’s basketball posts 3.64 team GPA in 2025-26 season

College of Southern Idaho women’s basketball finished the 2025-26 year with a 3.64 team GPA, a number that stands out in the NJCAA because it came while the Golden Eagles were also grinding through a 29-5 season and a run to the Elite Eight. In junior college basketball, where roster turnover and transfer pressure can knock a program off course fast, that kind of academic finish says CSI kept its priorities lined up from the first road trip to the last exam.

The academic mark, highlighted in a July 30 CSI Athletics release, fits the way this team operated on the floor. CSI went 12-3 in conference and reached 29 wins by March 28, then won the Region 18 championship on March 13 after advancing to the title game the day before. Later that month, the Golden Eagles blasted Dodge City 96-56 on March 27 to move into the NJCAA Elite Eight. That is a packed season by any standard, with practice, game prep and travel stacked on top of classwork and eligibility checks.

Ashley Garner and Chloe Jensen were part of the story from the start, and their names help explain why CSI could keep that level across the roster. On Nov. 6, 2025, the sophomores combined for 19 points and 10 rebounds in a win over No. 3 Eastern Arizona College, the kind of result that showed CSI could beat elite opponents while leaning on players who were carrying a full academic load. Garner later scored 17 points and finished with a double-double in a Dec. 6 win, and CSI followed that stretch with its 14th straight victory on Dec. 16.

That matters in Twin Falls because CSI’s women’s program has built a reputation on doing both jobs well. A 3.64 GPA is not a cosmetic number in the NJCAA. It means a roster stayed eligible, stayed organized and kept moving through the semester while the team was chasing a Region 18 title and a postseason bracket. For a program that already had the results on the scoreboard, the classroom work completed the picture.
