DAZN adds IFAF flag football World Championships to global schedule

DAZN has added the men’s and women’s IFAF Flag Football World Championships in Düsseldorf, Germany, to its global schedule, with coverage set to begin Aug. 13-16, 2026. The multi-year agreement with the International Federation of American Football gives DAZN global broadcast rights to IFAF flag football competitions and makes a wide selection of them free-to-view in more than 200 markets.

The 2026 event is the 12th IFAF flag football world championship, a marker that matters as the sport builds toward its Olympic debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics. The first day of the tournament is set to feature 28 games, giving DAZN a dense opening slate and giving the sport a larger stage during a pivotal stretch in its international calendar.

That scale follows a 2024 championship in Lahti, Finland, where more than 50 elite men’s and women’s teams from 32 countries took part. The size of that field showed how far the competition has spread beyond its early core markets, and the move onto DAZN’s global platform should make that reach easier to see for fans who have not followed flag football through IFAF’s own channels.

DAZN’s flag football push also sits alongside other football properties on its broader schedule, including Concacaf championships. For IFAF, the shift from a federation-specific distribution model to a free-to-view service available in more than 200 markets gives the world championships a level of visibility that matches the sport’s current moment: established enough to stage a 12th global tournament, and still close enough to Olympic arrival that every added screen matters.
