Deep Look LIVE previews World Ultimate Club Championships with Ravi Vasudevan
Ultiworld scheduled Episode 611 of Deep Look LIVE for Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. Eastern, with Keith Raynor joined by Ravi Vasudevan for a live preview of the World Ultimate Club Championships. The episode description put the stakes bluntly: “The biggest tournament of the year is here!”
That preview lands just days before the World Flying Disc Federation’s premier club championship event begins in Limerick, Ireland. WFDF says WUCC will run from August 15 to August 22, 2026, at the University of Limerick. Ultiworld’s event page lists the tournament from August 15 to August 23 at the University of Limerick in Castletroy, County Limerick, Ireland.
The scale of the field explains why a dedicated preview matters. Ultiworld’s team list from December 19, 2025 said 136 teams qualified for WUCC 2026, split into 48 open teams, 48 mixed teams and 40 women’s teams. WFDF stages the tournament every four years, and the mix of national styles and roster-building approaches makes the championship one of the clearest snapshots of the sport’s global club hierarchy.
Vasudevan’s presence also gives the show a wider frame than the usual North American lens. A resident European voice on the episode matters in a tournament where the best clubs come in from different competitive pipelines and tournament traditions. That broader view is especially useful when a field of 136 teams has to be sorted into contenders, challengers and the squads most likely to test the bracket once play starts in Ireland.
The U.S. qualifiers alone show how deep the field runs. USA Ultimate lists Brute Squad, Fury and Scandal in the women’s division; Revolver, Machine and PoNY in open; and Hybrid, XIST and shame. in mixed. Those names will be part of the early conversation around title paths, but the tournament’s international makeup means the week in Limerick will be decided by more than familiar American powers.
Ultiworld said on August 10 that it would broadcast 120 games from the championships, giving fans a large window into the event once the first pulls go up. The live preview with Raynor and Vasudevan was built to frame that coverage, and to give listeners a clear read on the matchups, form and pressure that will shape WUCC before the opening round in County Limerick.
