Dodgeball Ontario sets 2v2 foam tournament at Toronto Pan Am Centre
Dodgeball Ontario’s 2v2 foam tournament put the sport’s smallest format in one of its biggest indoor stages, and that changed the game before the first throw. With only two players per side, the emphasis shifted from managing a deep roster to quick reads, clean catches, sharp communication and stamina over repeated bursts, a different test than standard full-side play.
The tournament was listed for July 11, 2026, at Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre, 875 Morningside Avenue in Toronto. Dodgeball Ontario set men’s, women’s and mixed divisions, and the event used the official WDBF Dodgeball Ruleset 2022, modified for foam-style dodgeball. Entry was priced at $50 for one division or $70 for two, and free agents could register while organizers tried to pair them up.
That accessibility mattered as much as the format. A two-player field lowers the barrier for athletes who do not already have a full roster, and it gives competitive players a way into a sanctioned event without waiting for a full club to assemble. For a provincial scene that depends on keeping players active between larger tournaments, that kind of open registration can keep the calendar moving.
The setting added another layer. Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre describes its field house as a 35,000-square-foot, two-storey facility with four full-sized courts that can be divided by a drop curtain, the kind of footprint that turns a niche event into something closer to a showcase. A compact dodgeball tournament in that space does not look or feel like a gym-night pickup session; it lands as a formal competition in a venue built for major indoor sport.

Dodgeball Ontario has framed that effort as part of a broader mission to grow, develop and support the provincial dodgeball community with Dodgeball Canada. The organization says it supports players at every skill level and wants to create opportunities for furthering the sport, language that fits a format like 2v2 foam, where newer players can enter without needing a full club roster.
The Toronto stop also sat inside a larger provincial and national calendar. Dodgeball Ontario’s events page also promoted The Good Games in Guelph, while Dodgeball Canada’s rules resources include a 2v2 Tournament Series official rules document. Canada’s federation also has the 2026 Club Championships set for May 14-17 in Markham, Ontario, in partnership with Dodgeball Ontario. The World Dodgeball Federation’s rules list foam as an officially approved style of play, giving the Toronto event a clear place in the sport’s organized competitive structure.
