Fargo Force alum Jack Adams is back on the bench, and the timing makes the move feel like more than a reunion. The Force announced Adams as an assistant coach on July 29, 2026, ahead of the 2026-27 season, and he steps into the spot left open by Jimmy Mullin’s departure to Arizona State.

Adams gives Fargo a coach with direct Force roots and a playing résumé the organization can sell inside the locker room. He played 110 games for Fargo from 2015 to 2017 and finished his Force run with 84 points, scoring 45 goals and adding 39 assists. Valley News Live also noted that he set multiple single-season records during that stretch, a sign that Fargo is bringing in someone who knows what elite junior production looks like in its own sweaters.

The strongest part of the hire is how neatly Adams fits the development pipeline Fargo has built over time. On the University of Notre Dame roster page, Adams is listed as a 2016-17 Fargo Force player who led the USHL in goals with 37, finished fifth in league scoring with 60 points, and earned a spot in the 2016 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. Those numbers matter because they make Adams more than an alumnus with a good memory of the program. He lived the version of Fargo hockey that turns a junior season into a launch point.

That background matters now because the Force are not just filling a vacancy, they are choosing continuity. Mullin’s move to Arizona State created the opening, and Fargo responded by staying in-house with a former player who understands the pace, demands and expectations of the market. The team framed the hire on social media with the message “Back in the 701,” a simple line that made the intention clear: Adams is returning to help carry forward the Force identity from inside the room, not from the outside looking in.

For Fargo, the hire says the organization still values players who can translate their own experience into teaching.
