FC Tokyo hosts free FootGolf trial at Fuchu park

FC Tokyo will open FC Tokyo Park Fuchu to a free FootGolf and futsal court trial on Sunday, Aug. 9, turning its rooftop facility in Fuchu into a low-cost entry point for first-timers. The club posted the notice in English and linked versions in Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Portuguese, Korean and German, signaling that the invitation is meant to reach far beyond its regular local audience.

The setup is simple, and that is the point. FootGolf, which blends football kicking with golf-style scoring and course management, can feel unfamiliar to anyone who has never played it before. By pairing it with a futsal court free trial, FC Tokyo removes the two biggest barriers that keep curious players away: cost and the sense that they need to know the rules before they arrive.

FC Tokyo Park Fuchu is built for that kind of conversion. The facility describes itself as a rooftop futsal venue in Fuchu, about a one-minute walk from Fuchu Station, and says it is an FC Tokyo-operated sports site near both Fuchu Station and Fuchu Honmachi Station. It already hosts FC Tokyo soccer and futsal school programs, along with individual-participation events, so the FootGolf trial fits into a calendar that is already designed to pull in casual users, not just regulars.

That matters for FootGolf in particular. The sport grows fastest when it is presented as something a beginner can try without equipment, membership fees or a detailed rulebook. A free trial lowers the stakes for futsal players, families and park visitors who may know FC Tokyo by name but have never stepped onto a FootGolf layout. It also gives the club a way to introduce the sport in an urban setting where access to dedicated FootGolf courses can be limited.

The Park Fuchu site’s booking system runs through LaBOLA, and its reservation categories extend well beyond futsal to soccer, sosaichi, tennis, squash, padel and golf practice. That wider menu shows how FC Tokyo is using the facility as a multi-sport gateway, not a single-use venue. Its news listings also include August individual-participation events such as walking football and coach instruction programming, and a July 30 item marked as a new event.

For FootGolf, the free trial at Fuchu is less a one-off promotion than a clean example of how the sport can be introduced locally: free, public, and built to turn curiosity into a first round.
