FIFG counts down to Belgian Open 2026, registration now open
FIFG used a July 29 countdown post to push the BEL-500 Belgian Open 2026 into focus, with registration open and the tournament set for Aug. 27-30. The federation said the event will bring together “the best in international FootGolf” and give players a chance to “climb the world rankings.”
That ranking angle is the real edge of the Belgian Open. The BEL-500 tag places it in FIFG’s 500-level tier, where results carry more weight than a routine stop and can reshape a player’s position across the global, regional and national systems built into FIFG’s competition rules. With Belgium in the spotlight, the event offers the kind of points swing that can matter for season-long momentum, selection conversations and visibility for national programs.
FIFG’s own scheduling reinforces that status. The Belgian Open appears in the federation’s BlueGolf event listings, and its 2026 competition materials include a selected majors and FIFG 500 list for Region 3, Europe. That places the tournament inside a formal calendar rather than as a standalone showcase, and it helps explain why FIFG is promoting it a month out instead of waiting for the first tee shot.

The buildup also fits FIFG’s wider 2026 calendar strategy. The same season includes the Youth World Cup in Germany and the FootGolf World Cup in Acapulco, Mexico, which turns the Belgian Open into one of several anchor points in a busy international year. In that context, Belgium becomes more than a host country for a weekend: it becomes part of the federation’s effort to keep major events visible across Europe while funneling elite players toward the sport’s biggest stages.
FootGolf Belgium’s own website identifies the country as an official member of FIFG, a detail that helps explain why Belgium can land a featured event on the international circuit. For FIFG, the promotional push is clear. A countdown post, a four-day schedule, and a ranking incentive all point to the same goal: make the Belgian Open feel like a destination event, not just another tournament on the map.
