Former South Mountain Community College standout Jaylen Wesley signed a professional contract with VfL SparkassenStars Bochum for the 2026-27 season, giving the Cougars another overseas success story and sending the Phoenix guard into Germany’s ProA League. Wesley’s South Mountain numbers explain why the next step arrived. The Cougars listed him as a guard, and one school stat line shows him playing 29 games, starting all 29, and averaging a team-high 15.3 points and 6.1 rebounds in his junior season in 2024-25. Another South Mountain player profile puts him at 30 games, 29 starts, 15.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.7 steals per game while shooting 46.6 percent from the field and 35.4 percent from three-point range.

That profile fits the kind of player clubs in Europe can plug into a pro rotation.
