Freshman Ivy Munns leads Harmony to Class 4A semifinals

Ivy Munns’ all-county selection capped a freshman season that carried Harmony all the way to the Class 4A state semifinals. The Longhorns did not just reach the Final Four by accident. They got there because a first-year quarterback stepped into the most demanding spot on the field and kept delivering when the games tightened in the postseason.

Munns’ clearest statement came in the regional championship round, when Harmony rallied past Fort Pierce Central to claim the FHSAA Class 4A title and advance to the Final Four. In that win, Munns threw for 254 yards and two touchdowns, numbers that explain why Harmony’s offense never looked overwhelmed by the stage. She had already set the tone five days earlier, on May 5, when she fired three touchdown passes in a comeback win that sent the Longhorns to the regional final.

Harmony’s path was built long before the semifinals. The Longhorns opened the year by winning the OBC girls flag football championship, beating Celebration 26-20 in overtime on March 13 for the program’s sixth straight title. That kind of track record mattered because it showed Harmony already knew how to win close games, but the jump from county champion to state semifinalist came when Munns turned those wins into postseason momentum.

The state run ended against Lennard, which beat Harmony 39-19 in the Class 4A semifinal. Harmony still found the end zone three times, with Khloe Cook-Osani, Jada Bloodworth and Ellah Husbands each scoring, but the Longhorns could not fully recover once Lennard seized control. Even in defeat, the game underscored how far Harmony had climbed: a young team, with Munns at quarterback, was competing on one of the biggest stages in Florida girls flag football.

That is why the county honor matters beyond the usual all-star list. Munns was not just one of the better freshmen in Osceola County. She was the player who held together a breakthrough season that included an overtime county title, a regional crown and a trip to Tampa for the Final Four. For Harmony, the postseason run set a higher standard. For Munns, it set the first real benchmark of what her arm and command can do when the games matter most.
