Glen Cove Tuesday-night kickball season kicks off June 30 at City Stadium Park

LI Kick opened its Glen Cove Tuesday-night kickball season June 30 at City Stadium Park, where four fields allowed multiple games to run at once and kept the summer slate moving from 8:15 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The coed league ran through Aug. 11 and was built for all abilities, but its Bar Champs format made clear that Tuesday nights were about more than the standings.

That Bar Champs setup gave Glen Cove a second track of competition alongside the games themselves. LI Kick awards Bar Champs trophies to the team with the most bar points, and those points come from bar attendance, photo challenges and participating in or winning bar games. In a league like Glen Cove, that structure rewarded teams that stayed engaged after the final whistle and turned each week into a broader points chase rather than a single-night result.

The format also fit the kind of players LI Kick has built its business around since Sal Farruggia started the company in April 2013 as an eight-team kickball league. LI Kick now describes itself as Long Island’s premier and largest provider of co-ed adult social sports, with more than 2,000 leagues created and more than 80,000 players served. The company says its weekly leagues are seven-week commitments, a setup that gives friend groups and regulars a fixed summer rhythm without demanding a full-season commitment like a traditional club sport.

Glen Cove has become a recurring stop in that network. Historical league pages show spring seasons at City Stadium Park in 2025 and 2026, and the site has hosted kickball there in spring, summer, fall and late fall. That repetition makes the June 30 opening less like a one-off launch than another run in a place that already knows the schedule, the parking routine and the after-party logic behind a Bar Champs league.

LI Kick also runs year-round leagues in Nassau County communities including Glen Cove, Garden City, Wantagh and Valley Stream, as well as across Long Island in both Nassau and Suffolk counties.
