Hartford Athletic extends Emmanuel Samadia through 2028 season

Hartford Athletic has extended midfielder Emmanuel Samadia on a two-year deal that keeps him under contract through the 2028 season, giving the club another long-term piece in the middle of the field. The move fits a clear pattern in Hartford’s roster building, with Connecticut’s USL Championship side choosing stability around a trusted midfielder instead of turning over the core every window.

Samadia first joined Hartford on Nov. 28, 2023, and the club moved quickly to keep him after that initial arrival, announcing a contract extension on Sept. 25, 2024. His run with Hartford has also brought repeated recognition from the league, as he was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week on Aug. 20, Aug. 27 and Oct. 22, 2024. Those honors did more than decorate a resume; they marked him as a player Hartford could count on when the season tightened and the results mattered.

Hartford’s 2025 roster update, published Dec. 4, 2024, included Samadia, another sign that he remained part of the club’s longer view heading into the next campaign. The team’s roster and midfielders pages have continued to list him among Hartford Athletic players, and that kind of consistent placement tells the story as clearly as the contract itself. Hartford is not treating Samadia like a short-term patch. It is treating him like a midfielder worth carrying forward.

For a club that competes in the USL Championship and represents Hartford, the decision also says something about priorities over the next two seasons. Midfield is where teams either keep their shape or spend entire offseasons trying to find it again, and Hartford has already decided Samadia belongs in the first group. By extending him through 2028, the club has protected a known quantity and given itself one less hole to fill as it plans beyond 2026.
