Ireland FootGolf Association sets final registration deadline for Irish Open weekend
The FootGolf Association of Ireland has set Friday, Aug. 7 as the final day to register for Irish Open weekend, leaving players just a short window to secure a place before the field is locked in. The tournament begins Friday, Aug. 14 at Gowran Park Golf Club in Kilkenny and runs through Aug. 16 as a pairs event.
The FIFG Ireland schedule lists Gowran Park Golf Club as the venue, shows an entry fee of €20 and repeats the Aug. 7 closing date. That puts the deadline front and center for anyone planning a late entry, especially players who still need to arrange travel, pairings or weekend logistics around a national event on the domestic calendar.
The association has treated the Irish Open as one of the sport’s marquee weekends in Ireland, and it has used its social channels to underline the event’s competitive weight. In a video post, the association described the Irish Open as one of the best-value FIFG 500-point events in the world this year, a label that signals why the tournament draws more than casual interest from regular competitors. A July 3 post also called the 2026 edition the biggest FootGolf weekend on Irish soil and noted that it would take place Aug. 14-16.
That framing matters for players deciding whether to commit now. Competitive regulars get another chance to measure themselves in a major national field, newcomers have a rare opening to step into a headline Irish event, and traveling players still have time to sort out a late trip to Kilkenny before the entry list closes. With the weekend structured as a pairs event, the deadline is also the point at which partnerships, planning and preparation become fixed.
