Jaylin Davis wins another title, leads ACL Rockies to championship

Jaylin Davis added another championship to a fast-rising baseball résumé, guiding the Colorado Rockies’ Arizona Complex League club to a title in his first season as a coach. The former York Revolution player already owns an Atlantic League ring from 2024, and now has won from the dugout, too.

The Rockies’ Rookie-level affiliate in the Arizona Complex League was Davis’ first stop on the coaching side, and the move into player development came quickly. Kane County introduced him as its new hitting coach and said he had been called up to coach for the Colorado Rockies organization, while App State Baseball celebrated the jump from York’s championship team to another title with Davis in his first year as a coach. Baseball-Reference listed him as the ACL Rockies’ development coach in 2026, and Davis’ LinkedIn profile placed him with the Rockies in Gilbert, Arizona.

His first title came in York in 2024, when the Revolution swept the Charleston Dirty Birds to win the Atlantic League championship. York clinched that run with a walk-off win in Game 3 and claimed the club’s fourth championship in franchise history. The Revolution then repeated as Atlantic League champions in 2025, beating the High Point Rockers 7-4 in Game 4 on the road, a follow-up that kept Davis tied to one of the league’s most successful recent organizations.

That path gives Davis a rare line on a coaching résumé: championship player in York, championship coach in Colorado’s system. It also fits the Atlantic League’s growing role as a proving ground for future staff, where former players can move quickly into teaching, hitting instruction and day-to-day development without leaving the professional game behind. Davis, who played college baseball at Appalachian State University before his pro career, has already made that transition count in a league and an organization that both value people who can win in uniform and then help the next group do the same.
