The run mattered because of how the tournament is built. The Tommy McNamara Charitable Foundation says its mission is to raise funds to develop and maintain recreational and sports facilities in the Kennebunk area, so the title carried both competitive weight and a direct community link. The 2026 tournament was scheduled for Aug. 1 and 2 at Lower Village Park in Kennebunk, Maine, with play running from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Full team payment was due by July 1 to secure a spot, underscoring how much planning goes into a weekend that draws teams chasing both a bracket title and a cause.

For Kennebunk Outfitters, the 5-0 finish suggests a team that stayed steady through every stage of the bracket, whether by pitching, timely hitting, or clean defense. The Instagram post singled out Randy Scott for joining Team KO and helping bring home the victory, calling him “officially a member” of the Outfitters family and adding a “crazy shoutout on ESPN SportsCenter this morning.” Even without a loss to absorb or a comeback to survive, KO had to keep winning as the stakes rose from game to game until the Elite Division was decided.

The tournament’s charitable setting has deep local roots.
