USL’s Week 23 viewing guide placed the meeting on CBS Sports Golazo Network, part of a 2026 broadcast lineup that included 35 matches across CBS Television Network, CBS Sports Network and ESPN2. The league’s 16th campaign featured 25 clubs after kicking off March 7, and this one fit the bill as a six-point kind of night, with both clubs fighting for position and identity late in the season.

On the field, Oakland and Las Vegas again found little separation. The Roots had already beaten the Lights 4-2 on April 22 and 2-0 on June 6, but the third meeting of 2026 ended 0-0 in Las Vegas on August 5. USL’s social post noted the teams had split 11 all-time meetings with four wins apiece, a sign of how thin the margin has been whenever these clubs line up against each other.

Las Vegas did everything but score. The Lights extended their unbeaten streak to four games, but a finish never arrived, and both sides hit the woodwork on the night. Oakland arrived looking to get back in the win column and left with a point that kept the Roots from leaving empty-handed after a road trip into a difficult conference environment.

The draw left the game exactly where the playoff pressure suggested it might land: a tense, physical contest decided by one goalkeeper’s refusal to blink. McIntosh’s five-save shutout gave Oakland a result it could build on, while Las Vegas was left to wonder how a nationally televised window and home-field edge still produced nothing on the scoreboard.
