LPRT brings Christmas Classic pro-am to Severna Park

The Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour brought its Christmas Classic pro-am to Severna Park Racquetball & Fitness Club, giving more than 100 amateur players a rare chance to share the court with touring pros. The stop also carried an $18,000 purse and a full slate of pro singles and pro doubles, turning a local club date into a direct bridge between elite women’s racquetball and the grassroots base that keeps the sport moving.

The event was staged at Severna Park Racquetball & Fitness Club, 8514 Veterans Highway in Millersville, and the 33rd Annual LPRT Christmas Classic Benefiting Savi’s Army was listed for Dec. 5-7, 2025. That charitable tie gave the tournament more than a competitive edge. It also gave the host club and the surrounding racquetball community a centerpiece event with a clear local hook, a packed draw and enough depth to support skill and age divisions across the amateur field.

The Christmas Classic has become a familiar annual stop rather than a one-off exhibition. The tour returned to Severna Park Racquetball & Fitness Club for the 32nd Annual Christmas Classic in December 2024, and the LPRT’s own materials have continued to identify the event as a recurring fixture on its calendar. For a sport built around club venues and regional followings, that kind of repeat placement matters. It keeps the women’s pro game visible in front of players who can actually step into the same building and see the standard up close.

Montse Mejia has already stamped that event with real pro credibility. The Mexico standout won her third career title at the 30th Annual LPRT Christmas Classic Pro-AM, a reminder that the Severna Park stop is not just a community gathering with a touring label attached. It is a place where the women’s tour can still produce a serious competitive test, and where local players get to see exactly how much is required to win at that level.
