Mexico sets July 24-26 for junior national dodgeball championship

Federación Mexicana de Dodgeball has set its Campeonato Nacional de Dodgeball Juvenil 2026 for July 24-26, putting the country’s junior title event on the summer calendar as a multi-day test for the next wave of Mexican players. The federation lists the tournament on its events page, and the date window now gives clubs and coaches a fixed target for the season’s most important youth competition.

That July championship sits alongside another youth marker in the same 2026 calendar. The federation also lists Campeonato Nacional Infantil y Juvenil for May 1-3, a sign that Mexico’s governing body is giving junior development more than one national stage. In a sport built on repetition, timing and composure under pressure, those dates matter because they create regular checkpoints for athletes moving from local play into national competition.

The broader structure matters as much as the medals. The World Dodgeball Federation says Federación Mexicana de Dodgeball, also known as Dodgeball Mexico, has been promoting the sport since 2015, and that long runway helps explain why a national youth calendar is becoming more defined. When junior athletes get repeated exposure to championship settings, coaches can evaluate how players handle pool play, bracket games and the demands of back-to-back matches, while selectors get a clearer read on who is ready to move toward senior competition.

Mexico’s youth pathway also fits into a wider international reset. The inaugural World Youth Open took place in Calgary from February 19-22, 2025, bringing together more than 200 participants from Canada, Hong Kong, Italy, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the United States across U18, U16 and U12 divisions. The World Dodgeball Federation then released its updated international rules framework on May 9, 2026 after consultation with athletes, referees, continental confederations and national federations, reinforcing the push to standardize how the sport is played at every level.

The domestic results already suggest that the pipeline is producing talent outside the usual centers. Al Calor Político said young athletes from Álamo, representing Veracruz, won 10 medals and 10 trophies in a national dodgeball competition in Mexico City. La Opinión de Poza Rica also ran a headline saying Álamo was set to host the Campeonato Nacional de Dodgeball 2026, another indicator that the sport’s footprint is spreading beyond one city and into new regional programs.

For Mexico, the July 24-26 Juvenil championship is more than a title event. It is a measuring point for which states and clubs are building depth, which training systems are turning younger athletes into national contenders, and how quickly the sport’s next generation is pushing toward the senior game.
