Miami Township launches fall adult co-ed kickball league

Miami Township will open registration Monday, Aug. 3, for a new adult co-ed kickball league at Riverview Park, giving adults 18 and older a seven-week fall option built around Thursday evenings. The first games are set for Thursday, Sept. 10.

The fee structure is simple and local: resident teams will pay $200, while non-resident teams will pay $250. One team captain will register the entire roster, a common adult-rec format that keeps sign-up manageable and gives the township a single contact for league updates, schedules and roster changes.

The township’s pitch leans just as hard into the social side as the athletic one. In its post, Miami Township said, "It's time to get your team together, grab your friends." That framing fits the way adult kickball works best: co-ed teams, a predictable weekly slot, and a low-barrier format that lets casual players compete without the commitment of a travel league or the learning curve of a more technical sport.

Riverview Park will be the centerpiece for the seven-week schedule, with every game played on Thursday evening. That steady rhythm matters for a fall league, especially for adults balancing work and family schedules, because it turns recreation into something that can actually be planned around instead of squeezed in.

The setup also matches what has worked in neighboring markets. Gem City Social Sports in Dayton markets its kickball around weekly Thursday night games, co-ed teams and after-game socials, while Columbus Recreation and Parks also runs adult kickball leagues. Miami Township is using the same formula here: one park, one night a week, and a short season that makes it easy for friends, coworkers or family members to build a team before the first pitch is kicked on Sept. 10.
