MLW Wiffle Ball drops 2026 Home Run Derby ahead of Chicago Series
MLW Wiffle Ball posted its 2026 Home Run Derby video on July 24 and used it as a springboard into the Chicago Series, linking fans straight to Saturday’s Diamondbacks vs. Magic matchup. The clip’s description made the pitch blunt: “The MLW Home Run Derby is here so make sure to go play Baseball Hits 26 to celebrate!”
The league did not treat the derby as a standalone hit. It pointed viewers to Chicago Series info and tickets for July 25 and wrapped the video around the same sales push that has powered its summer content. The description also promoted authentic player jerseys, hats, strikezones, hoodies, socks and more, turning the derby into a shop window for the brand as much as a highlight package. In the visible YouTube snippet, the video had 13,747 views and 748 likes shortly after posting.
Chicago was the real destination. MLW said it was “MLW LIVE FROM CHICAGO SAT, JULY 25, 2026! (TICKETS ON SALE NOW)” and listed the event at Les Miller Field at Curtis Granderson Stadium, with first pitch set for 6:00 PM CDT. The ticket listing said each general admission ticket included access to the three-game MLW series, and the official site identified the Chicago clubs as the Downtown Diamondbacks and Metro Magic.

MLW also framed the stop as part of a longer run in the city. On Facebook, the league said it was excited to be back at Curtis Granderson’s stadium on Saturday, July 25 for its third straight year of the Chicago Series. That post drew 28 reactions and 9 comments, while another league page described the weekend as a welcome return to UIC’s Les Miller Field. The Derby release kept that momentum moving, giving the league one more buzz item before live games began.
For MLW, the Derby’s value was not in crowning a separate champion. It was the timing. The league dropped the video on July 24, hyped Baseball Hits 26, sold merch, and funneled attention toward a Chicago showcase built around Diamondbacks-Magic. With the series set for July 25 at Curtis Granderson Stadium, the home run clip served its purpose: it made the live event feel like the next must-see stop on the schedule.
