Montreal’s Flight School Elite win NFL Flag world title in Indianapolis

Flight School Elite brought home the world title from the 2026 NFL FLAG Championships after winning the U15 crown in Westfield, Indiana, capping a summer that put Montreal at the center of youth flag football. The Quebec-based squad was built from athletes across Greater Montreal, not a single school or neighborhood pipeline, and it outlasted top teams from around the globe at a tournament that drew more than 350 girls and boys teams.

The championships ran July 23-26 at Droplight Grand Park Sports Campus, the first time the event was staged in Westfield. The NFL describes the tournament as the world’s premier youth flag football event and the largest of its kind, a backdrop that gives Flight School Elite’s run real weight beyond a single title game. Winning there means beating the deepest field in the sport, with programs from the United States and international contenders all in the same bracket.

The title also fits a growing pattern for Flight School. Canada’s Team Flight School won the 2025 International NFL Flag Championships in Orlando, a recent precedent that showed the program had already established itself among the sport’s elite before Montreal added another trophy. That continuity matters because it points to something larger than one hot weekend: a development structure in Greater Montreal that can assemble top-end teams from a wide urban talent base.

An nflcanada post ahead of the event had Flight School slated to face Brazil at 3 p.m. ET on championship Saturday, with the games available live on TSN, DAZN and ESPN. The broadcast reach only widened the platform for a Canadian club playing on a stage the NFL itself has put at the top of the youth flag football ladder.

Jordel Springer captured the mood after the breakthrough in a social clip, saying, “It was one of the best feelings ever.” For Montreal, that feeling now comes with a title that can sharpen the city’s profile in a sport moving toward a bigger international future, and it gives Quebec another concrete example of a program producing world-level results.
