New Jersey Youth Soccer opened registration for the 2026 NJYS FootGolf Championships, giving New Jersey players and families another entry point into one of the state’s youth-footgolf events. The push kept FootGolf on the association’s calendar and signaled that NJYS was still actively building the format into its youth-soccer slate.

That matters because FootGolf works as a crossover event for soccer families who want competition without the grind of a full-field match. NJYS has already leaned into the sport in two different settings. The association said it hosted its first-ever FootGolf championships at Crystal Springs Resort, and it also staged Every Kick Counts, an inaugural FootGolf fundraiser sponsored by RWJBarnabas Health at Bel-Aire Golf Course in Wall. That event drew more than 50 players, families and volunteers and supported the NJYS TOPSoccer Program, which serves soccer players with disabilities.

Taken together, those events show FootGolf is not just a one-off novelty in New Jersey. NJYS has used it as both a competition and a fundraiser, folding it into the broader youth-soccer ecosystem alongside programs like TOPSoccer.
