New York Green Apples crowned Big League Wiffle Ball champions in 2026

New York Green Apples finished the Big League Wiffle Ball season with a 5-0 no-hitter over the Dallas Pandas, and the league put the title in one blunt line: New York had “another champion in 2026.” The win closed a World Series that BLW scheduled for Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, at 10 a.m. ET on ESPN2, with the championship streamed live from Orlando, Florida.

The title game had been framed as a New York-Dallas clash from the start. BLW’s World Series preview set the No. 2 Green Apples against the No. 5 Pandas in what the league called the first ever BLW Summer World Series, and ESPN Watch listed the event as first streamed on Friday, Aug. 7. The setup gave New York a chance to finish a tournament run on a national platform, and the Green Apples delivered the kind of result that leaves no room for debate.

The championship post also carried a small but telling scoring snapshot from the event around it: the Yankees won one game 8-6, and the Mets answered with a 4-3 victory in another. Even without a full box score, those numbers show how tight the postseason environment was around the title stage, where a couple of runs could flip the night from one New York club to another. Against that backdrop, the Green Apples’ no-hitter over Dallas stood out even more sharply.

BLW’s playoff coverage earlier in the month showed six teams in postseason action inside Intense Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, with the path pointing toward Orlando. That postseason frame fit a league that has built itself around recognizable baseball-style identities, compressed games and TV-ready drama. The league’s Instagram bio described it as “America’s First Professional Wiffle® Ball League” and noted that it was live on ESPN2.

The championship also lands in the middle of BLW’s rapid growth. Sports Business Journal reported in October 2025 that the league was launching as a 10-team circuit and that Gary Vaynerchuk had joined the ownership group. The Arizona Republic traced the league back to spring 2020, when Logan and Carson Rose started playing during the pandemic in Scottsdale. With the Green Apples now holding the 2026 title, New York has become the clearest proof point yet that BLW’s biggest stage can produce a power center as well as a champion.
