Northern Arizona adds eight transfers to complete rebuilt roster for 2026-27
On July 2, Northern Arizona added eight transfer players, pushing the Lumberjacks to 11 newcomers and leaving Shane Burcar with four returners, including starters Ryan Abelman, Chris Komin and Brennan Peterson. The program had already announced three incoming freshmen earlier in the spring.
Burcar said the staff had "clearly identified our needs, including size in the post and overall athleticism across our roster," and the transfer class is built to help Northern Arizona chase a Big Sky championship. The class includes three players directly from Division I, four with Division I experience, one Division II transfer and four junior-college transfers.

Tamiel Green, a sophomore forward-center from Conyers, Georgia, arrived from Indian River State College, Nana Keutcha, a junior center from Yaounde, Cameroon, came from Colby Community College, and Mason Dorsey, a redshirt junior guard from Los Angeles, brings junior-college experience after a stop at the College of the Sequoias.

A two-time Arizona Gatorade Player of the Year and a top-100 prospect out of Perry High School, Dylan Anderson reached NAU after stops at Arizona, Boise State and Murray State. Last season at Murray State, he played 31 games, started two, averaged 1.5 points and 1.7 rebounds, and ranked third on the team with 10 blocks. At Boise State in 2024-25, he started 11 of 24 games, shot 53.8 percent from the field and averaged 3.5 points and 1.7 rebounds.

Noah George, Lucas Toukam and Johnny Mautz were announced in May, with George arriving as a 3-star recruit who averaged 12.7 points, eight rebounds and six assists as a senior, Toukam coming off a prep season of 10.3 points and seven rebounds at Bella Vista College Prep, and Mautz carrying St. Michaels High School’s all-time scoring record with 1,407 points. NAU will test the rebuilt roster immediately with a trip to Kentucky on Friday, Nov. 13, its first meeting with the Wildcats and only its second game in the state.
