Panagsangka 2026 kickball tournament highlights teamwork in Dipolog celebration
Panagsangka 2026 turned the Football Pitch at the Dipolog Sports Complex in Barangay Olingan into a meeting place for employees of the City Government of Dipolog and other teams, with kickball framed as part of the city’s 113th Adlaw sa Dipolog celebration. The tournament was staged on June 22, and the day’s emphasis stayed on cooperation, discipline, and sportsmanship rather than on any one final result.
Radio Philippines Network’s June 23 account of the event described a series of games that kept players active and involved throughout the afternoon. The City Information Office said the tournament was meant to strengthen unity, teamwork, and good relationships among employees, giving the competition a clear purpose beyond the bracket. No box score or championship result was released, but the structure of the event made the message plain: kickball was being used as a working part of the city’s celebration, not as an exhibition apart from it.
That approach fit the way Dipolog has been building its anniversary season. The city’s 2026 tourism calendar laid out a year-long lineup of cultural festivals, sports tournaments, art exhibits, and holiday celebrations, and Pagsalabuk 2026 was scheduled for May 15 to 24 as part of that broader calendar. Local background material also notes that Dipolog townhood was formally announced on July 1, 1913, while the national government declared July 1, 2025 a special non-working day in the city for its founding anniversary. The Presidential Communications Office later included a June 10, 2026 proclamation for Dipolog City’s founding anniversary among local-anniversary observances nationwide.
Panagsangka has become one of the clearest examples of that pattern. A Department of Education-Dipolog memorandum described Panagsangka 2023 as the 110th Adlaw sa Dipolog inter-office sportsfest, scheduled from June 21 to July 1, 2023 at the Dipolog City Sports Center. City government posts from that year showed the program reaching beyond one sport, with multiple competitions that included MLBB, and that same mix of competition and fellowship carried into this year’s kickball tournament at Barangay Olingan.
