Premier Padel debuts in Germany as Round of 32 begins

Premier Padel opened its first-ever German stop at CASTELLO Düsseldorf as the first matches of the Round of 32 got underway at the CUPRA Germany Premier Padel P2. Germany had already staged CUPRA FIP Tour and FIP Promotion events, but this was the country’s first taste of the sport’s top tier, and the debut immediately carried the feel of a true expansion milestone rather than a novelty date.

The tournament was set up like a full-stop Premier Padel event, with the official tournament page carrying player-list and schedule tabs for Düsseldorf. That mattered because the German debut was not built around a single showcase night or a one-off exhibition feel. It was folded into the same matchday structure that has defined the tour in Spain, France and the Middle East, giving German fans a first local look at the sport’s elite without leaving the country.

The response in Düsseldorf pointed to a market that already had room to grow. D.SPORTS said the 2026 return to the city followed a successful premiere marked by world-class sport, sold-out finals and enthusiastic fans, and its listing said the 2025 premiere drew more than 5,000 spectators. The tournament is already scheduled to come back to CASTELLO Düsseldorf from 4-11 October 2026, a fast repeat booking that suggests the debut did what Premier Padel wanted it to do: prove Germany can handle a premium stop and bring enough people through the doors to justify another one.

The competitive side of the event matched the business case. The German stop brought the tour’s biggest names into the same conversation, and the later title match delivered a marquee finish when Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto beat Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello 7-6(7), 6-2. With those four players on the stage, Germany’s first Premier Padel week did not look like a soft launch. It looked like a circuit decision that already had enough star power, attendance and momentum to become a recurring fixture on the calendar.
