Pretoria P1 marks South Africa debut as Leal-Guerrero make history

Leal-Guerrero and Calvo-Fernández reached their first Premier Padel final together in Pretoria, giving South Africa’s debut P1 its clearest headline and turning the SunBet Arena at Time Square into the stage for a pair of career milestones.

The Pretoria P1 ran from 26 July to 2 August 2026, and Premier Padel and the FIP framed it as the tour’s first stop in South Africa. What made the week stand out was not just the setting, but the way Leal-Guerrero and Calvo-Fernández handled it. Their run ended with both players reaching a first Premier Padel final, a breakthrough that matters on a circuit where the title match is usually reserved for established pairs. In Pretoria, they produced the consistency needed to navigate a loaded draw and earn a place in the final for the first time at this level.
