Pride Sports League opens summer kickball registration in Clive, Iowa
Pride Sports League opened summer kickball registration in Clive with a June 6 to June 30 sign-up window, a $35 fee per player and Wednesday games set for July 8 through August 19 at Campbell Recreation Area. The season runs from July 1 to August 26, and the league is trying to reach eight teams so it can split play into recreational and competitive divisions.
Adults 18 and older can register, and the league accepts both individuals and full teams. Free agents are guaranteed a place in the league, may register without forming a roster, and can sign up in small groups of up to five. Pride Sports League also says free agents are placed on teams of similar skill level, while teams may carry as many as 16 players without losing a guaranteed spot.
Pride Sports League of Central Iowa describes itself as a place for safe recreational, social and networking opportunities through sports for LGBTQ+ people and allies in Central Iowa. It says all skill levels are welcome in an accepting environment, and the organization is incorporated in Iowa as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Its board meets monthly, typically on the second Tuesday, giving the league a year-round structure beyond the summer kickball slate.

Campbell Recreation Area, at 12385 Woodlands Parkway, gives the league a familiar home in Clive. The 34-acre park includes three adult softball fields, two sand volleyball courts, a basketball court, three tennis courts, playground equipment and open space for soccer or football, and Clive says improvements to the site were completed in 2007. Cleats are encouraged for kickball nights, but metal spikes are not allowed, a small detail that matters when players are deciding what to wear for the first game.
The 2026 schedule follows a 2025 summer season that also used Campbell Recreation Area and kept the same $35 per-player fee. Last year’s standings included six named teams, led by Kick And Ball Torture at 9-0, with The Bunter Cows, I’d hit that, Ballsy, Kicking Balls and Fascists, and Sforzand-Hoes also in the table. That continuity gives Pride Sports League another summer built around weekly midweek games in the same Clive park, with the team count now shaping how the season is divided.
