QuadballUK adds new leaders across youth, events and volunteers teams

QuadballUK named five new leaders on March 20: William Brilliant, Bronwyn Powell, Matthew Houghton, Sam Mills and James Kramer. The hires cover youth, events and volunteer operations as the national body pushes 2026 projects in gameplay, safeguarding, youth and media.

Brilliant joined the Executive Management Team as assistant director, working with co-directors Matt Bateman and Gio Forino after Izzy Brown left the role. Powell became youth officer, Houghton stepped in as the newly created national teams coordinator, Mills joined as assistant head of events and Kramer took over as assistant head of volunteers. QuadballUK also listed Maria Mahoney as head of volunteers, Cornelia Tzana as head of media and Thomas Ng as secretary in the wider executive group.

QuadballUK oversees teams and individual memberships and administers the national teams for England, Scotland and Wales. Its youth partner Enrich Education reached more than 30,000 children in 200 schools in the 2022-23 academic year. QuadballUK's figures show more than 350 athletes compete domestically in university and community leagues, 57.14% of its athletes had never played a sport before joining quadball, and 55.75% identify as LGBT+.

In May 2025, QuadballUK named Gio Forino and Matt Bateman as directors as part of a move toward a more professional structure and away from the university-esque committees from which the sport was built. The executive team meets regularly to review policy, operational updates and opportunities for growth or support.
