Regalado fans 11, but York falls to Charleston 6-3
Nick Regalado struck out a career-high 11 and worked a career-best 6.1 innings, but York still left GoMart Ballpark with a 6-3 loss to the Charleston Dirty Birds on Thursday night, June 25. The Revolution entered at 31-26 and saw a three-game road winning streak end. Regalado had never struck out more than six in a professional outing before this one.
Charleston scored in the third and fourth innings before York could build on Regalado’s effort. Keyvius Sampson, the 35-year-old right-hander, improved to 2-3 by holding the Revolution to two hits over seven shutout innings and keeping York off balance throughout. The Dirty Birds took the lead when Shawon Dunston Jr. delivered a two-out RBI double in the third inning, then stretched the margin in the fourth on Jhon Nunez’s opposite-field solo home run.
York found some life in the eighth inning. Nick Dunn doubled in a run, Brian Rey followed with an RBI single and Jackson Ross drew a bases-loaded walk to pull the Revolution within reach. Charleston’s bullpen kept the inning from going any further, and the Dirty Birds protected the lead as York’s late surge faded.

Carlos Meza closed the game after Lance Lusk failed to record an out in the ninth and earned his fifth career save. Charleston’s win was its first in the series against York after the Revolution had taken the previous eight meetings, including June 4 at WellSpan Park, when York rolled 17-7 and completed a sweep of the first half of the six-game set.
