Reggie Larsen signs with NJCAA power College of Southern Idaho

College of Southern Idaho added another Idaho product to its men’s basketball roster when it signed Reggie Larsen for the 2026-27 season. The 6-foot-5 guard is coming off a year at Salt Lake Community College, where he averaged 4.9 points and 2.0 rebounds in 15 minutes per game while shooting 43 percent from 3-point range.

For Larsen, the move is bigger than a homecoming. CSI is one of the most recognizable junior-college programs in the country, and the Golden Eagles’ brand is built on high-end competition, national exposure and a direct path to the four-year level. That makes Twin Falls a clear development stop for a player who already proved he can score in bunches at Preston High School, where he finished his senior season at 18.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game while hitting 60 percent of his shots and 45 percent from beyond the arc.

That background gives CSI a wing who has already shown he can translate. Larsen’s production at Salt Lake Community College was more modest, but the shooting numbers matter: a 43 percent mark from 3-point range in the NJCAA usually travels, especially for a player with his size and the ability to guard multiple perimeter spots. If CSI wants him to help right away, the path is obvious. Larsen can stretch the floor, play off the ball and give Jeff Reinert another option when the game tightens and every possession gets compressed.

The July 29 announcement also fit into a larger roster-building picture for the Golden Eagles. CSI has continued to add pieces for multiple recruiting cycles, including Nevada wing Jayden Bunker and Serbian guard Luka Solomun, part of the kind of ongoing personnel churn that defines top-tier JUCO programs. Larsen’s addition fits that model: players arrive with a clear role, prove they can handle the level, and use CSI as the bridge to the next step.

For Larsen, that next step depends on what he does in a lineup full of athletes and shot-makers. For CSI, landing an Idaho native with a proven scoring résumé and a 3-point shot gives the Golden Eagles another piece that can matter in conference play and beyond.
