River City Wiffle Ball Classic returns to support Aurora Evansville
Forty-eight teams will play in Aurora Evansville’s River City Wiffle Ball Classic at Deaconess Sports Complex on Sept. 26, filling a 240-to-480-player field. With rosters of five to 10 players, a $30 per-player entry fee and major plus other divisions on the schedule, the event keeps the barrier to entry low while raising money for Aurora’s work with people experiencing homelessness in Evansville.
Aurora opened the tournament to teams 14-and-older and 13-and-under. Smaller rosters mean more teams can fit into the same event space, and the format gives youth groups, mixed-age lineups and adult squads a way to enter without building a full baseball roster.
The second annual River City Wiffle Ball Classic was scheduled for Historic Bosse Field in Evansville on Sept. 27, 2023. The fundraiser returned in 2024 and 2025. By July 2025, the event was back for a fourth year, with Crystal Southern of Aurora and Marcus Billingsley of the River City Wiffle Ball Committee handling registration details.

The fifth annual tournament is set for Sept. 26, and Aurora said team spots were filling fast as the event moved toward its September date.
