Ross powers York past Charleston with three-run homer in 10-4 win

Jackson Ross drove the offense with four RBIs as York beat the Charleston Dirty Birds 10-4 Friday night before 5,901 fans at GoMart Ballpark. Braden Scott worked seven innings for the sixth time this season, and York improved to 32-26 while Charleston fell to 20-38.

The Revs built their cushion fast. Nick Dunn opened with a solo homer to right in the first, Brian Rey followed with an infield single, and Jacob Teter ripped a ground-rule double before Ross added a sacrifice fly. Ben Blackwell then doubled in a run, and York was up 3-0 before Charleston had settled in. Ross put the game in deep freeze in the third, launching his eighth homer of the season down the left-field line for a three-run shot that pushed the lead to 6-0.

Scott did the part that makes a road win feel routine instead of fragile. He allowed just two runs on four hits, struck out eight and walked two, and finished seven innings for the third straight start. Charleston got solo homers from Narciso Crook in the sixth, Carlos De La Cruz and Jhon Nunez late, but the Dirty Birds never mounted a real push because Scott kept working out of trouble and York kept adding separation.

The separation kept coming in the seventh and ninth. Mike Rosario drove in a run with an RBI double, Austin Bates added a sacrifice fly, and York scored again in the ninth when Bates stole third and came home on a wild pitch. The Revs finished with 14 hits, eight walks and four stolen bases.

Rey went 4-for-6, and Bates swiped three bases. Bates had only four career steals before the game and had not stolen a base since 2024. York’s four steals gave it 19 over its previous five games, and the eight walks pushed the club to 32 free passes across the first four games of the Charleston series. York took nine of 10 from Charleston in the 2026 season series and grabbed three of the first four games in Charleston that week.
