Rowdies transfer Endri Mustali to Bray Wanderers for development step
The Tampa Bay Rowdies sent Endri Mustali to Bray Wanderers FC on July 3, giving the 18-year-old forward a move into the League of Ireland First Division after a first professional stretch that produced two assists in 19 appearances across all competitions.
The transfer says as much about Tampa Bay’s development model as it does about Mustali’s next stop. The Rowdies kept a percentage of his future sell-on rights, a sign the club still sees value in a player who arrived as one of its youngest Modern Era signings at 17 and now leaves with a senior résumé built in St. Petersburg, Florida. Mustali first joined the Rowdies in August 2024 on his initial professional contract after emerging as a local striker who impressed in training. USL later identified him as a product of Tampa Bay United who also spent time in Inter Miami CF’s academy.

For a club that has spent much of the season near the top of the Eastern Conference conversation, the move is a practical example of how roster management can extend beyond the current table. Tampa Bay had listed Mustali among six players under contract for 2026 in a November roster update, but the summer sale creates room on the roster while keeping a stake in whatever comes next. For Mustali, it turns 19 appearances into leverage for a fresh run in Ireland, where the pace, physicality and weekly demand of a different league can accelerate a young attacker’s growth faster than a reserve role or a sporadic bench spot in the United States.
Bray wasted no time folding him into the squad. In its 1-0 win over Athlone Town on July 3, Mustali came on for the final 10 minutes of regulation and had a notable pass that helped create a chance for Tyreik Sammy. That cameo gave him an immediate look at the closing stages of a tight first-team match, the kind of minutes that often matter most for an 18-year-old trying to turn potential into dependable production.

The deal leaves both clubs with a clear gain. Tampa Bay preserved future upside on a homegrown-adjacent prospect it developed into a professional, and Bray added a young attacker with senior experience and a pathway that now stretches from Tampa to County Wicklow. Mustali’s next stretch will show whether the Rowdies have found another exportable piece in a player who had not yet become a centerpiece, but already had enough value to move.
