Schott Classic grows into Cincinnati’s biggest wiffle ball weekend
The Schott Classic has 54 of 55 spots filled for its 2026 weekend, and some divisions are already full with waitlists open, a demand level that has pushed Cincinnati’s charity wiffle ball event beyond casual-tournament territory. The sixth annual Schott Classic is set for July 11-12, 2026 at William C. Schott Memorial Fields, 5520 Cleves Warsaw Pike, with check-in beginning at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
Founded to honor William C. Schott and his lifelong love of wiffle ball, the tournament now runs with the kind of structure that comes with serious demand. The weekend uses standard wiffle ball rules with tournament-specific modifications, and the schedule includes check-in, pool play, bracket play, a derby and championships. Entry is $300 per team, youth rosters are listed at 3-5 players, and every division winner takes home a trophy.

The bracket board shows where the growth is happening. The 2026 Jr. Schott Classic lists 36 teams, while the Schott Classic Co-Ed bracket shows 11 teams. That kind of depth is why the event now looks less like a one-off summer gathering and more like a full tournament ecosystem, with youth, open-coed and women’s divisions all operating under the same weekend umbrella. Earlier youth brackets stretched from players moving into first through eighth grades, another sign that the tournament has been building its base from the bottom up.
The money behind the weekend still points back to the neighborhood roots that started it. All proceeds from the Schott Classic help with upgrades to Schott Field and St. Antoninus Athletic Club youth sports. St. Antoninus Athletic Club says its primary job is to fund athletics at St. Antoninus, maintain and improve Schott Field, assist with the school gym and provide volunteer support for parish events. The Schott Memorial Association owns the athletic fields at the northwest corner of Cleves Warsaw Road and Linneman Road in Green Township, giving the event a fixed home as its field count keeps climbing.
