Scotland Open returns to Cardrona with major ranking points on offer

MacDonald Cardrona Resort will again host Scotland’s flagship FootGolf event from Friday, July 24 through Sunday, July 26, with major ranking points on the line across 54 holes and three rounds. The Friday afternoon Scottish Scramble Pairs adds another format before the individual race gets serious.

The event is listed as SCO 1000 - The Scottish Open in the official FIFG and BlueGolf system, which places it firmly inside the international FootGolf competition structure. Last year’s results sharpen that edge. Mick Eardley won the Men’s title in 2025, Kelly Menzies pushed Wales’ Jen Broughall deep into the Women’s contest, Stein Arnestad took the Senior title, Vania Massimi won the Women’s Senior title, and Budapest’s Csaba Balazsi edged Marcel Peeper, Klaas Wijers and Turkey’s Osman Genc in a tight Super Senior Men’s finish.

The Scottish Open page says the two bespoke footgolf courses have been freshened up from 2025 and will challenge every part of a player’s game. Macdonald Cardrona Hotel, Golf & Spa in Peebles says it has 99 bedrooms, while FootGolf Scotland says only 40 rooms are available on site for the event. Set in the Scottish Borders near Peebles, with the River Tweed and Border Hills in the backdrop, the venue gives the tournament a more complete championship feel than a typical stop-and-play weekend.

FootGolf Scotland, founded in May 2020, describes the Scottish Open as its flagship event of the year. Its president is Neil Shave, and OSCR lists the body’s charitable purposes as advancing public participation in sport, providing recreational footgolf facilities and overseeing competitive FootGolf in Scotland.
