Stonewall Sports Richmond opens fall kickball registration for 2026 season

Captain registration opens at 12 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, and Stonewall Sports Richmond is using that early window to push fall kickball teams into place before spots tighten. General registration opens July 1 and closes July 17, with early-bird pricing available through July 12 before regular pricing kicks in on July 13.

The Fall 2026 season is scheduled to run from August 23 through October 18 at Henderson Softball Complex. Stonewall Sports Richmond lists kickball teams at 16 to 24 players, with a team considered complete at 14 or more registered players, and says free agents can still be placed based on skill level and availability. The league’s minimum age is 21.

The price difference is sharp enough to matter for captains trying to lock in rosters quickly. Early-bird registration is $42 per player plus a $3 processing fee, while the regular rate rises to $52 per player plus the same $3 fee. For organizers, that creates a clear deadline: get enough players signed up before July 12 to keep costs down and avoid getting squeezed out by the July 17 close.

Stonewall Sports Richmond is framing the season as more than a schedule of games. The nonprofit LGBTQIA+ and ally league says its Richmond chapter has operated since 2017 as the 12th city expansion of the national Stonewall Sports network, and that it has since generated more than 4,500 players, 800-plus teams, and more than $100,000 donated. It also offers year-round sports, including kickball, dodgeball, indoor volleyball, bowling, and sand volleyball.

That broader identity shows up in the league’s player spotlights. Dru Peters, the new Admin and Communication Director, says he joined Stonewall to be part of a community that felt inclusive, fun, and safe. Malcolm’s story points to the same pull: moving to Richmond without a local network, he found friendships and repeat connection through the league. For many players, that is the real draw of adult kickball in Richmond, a weekly place to show up, compete, and stay connected.

Stonewall says each season typically includes six to eight weeks of play, plus playoffs or tournaments, with equipment, uniform shirts, facilities, referees, umpires, and post-game activities included. With captain registration already open and general sign-up moving fast, the league is making the message plain: lock in a roster now or risk watching fall kickball fill up without you.
