Stormers add Dean Mihos as 2026 roster takes shape

Dean Mihos has joined the Lancaster Stormers roster, giving the club a right-handed bat who can cover both center field and shortstop as its 2026 depth chart starts to settle. For Lancaster, that is the real appeal: one player with enough defensive range to matter in the middle of the field and enough offensive history to keep him in the mix.

Baseball-Reference lists Mihos as Konstantin Aristides Mihos, born July 9, 2004, in Philadelphia. He attended Owen J. Roberts High School in Pottstown before moving on to Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina, and the roster listing shows him as a right-handed hitter and thrower at 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds. MLB.com and MiLB.com both show recent assignments to Coastal Carolina on Feb. 12, 2026, with MiLB.com also listing an earlier assignment there on Feb. 19, 2025. MiLB.com’s transaction history also shows the Danville Otterbots activated shortstop Dean Mihos on May 4, 2023.

The loudest line on Mihos’ resume came in the College World Series. A Tom Sox feature from July 11, 2025, said Mihos joined a short list of former Tom Sox players to reach the national stage after helping Coastal Carolina get to Omaha, and he homered in game two of the championship series against LSU. That is the kind of production that travels: a young player who has already handled elite college pressure and delivered a swing that showed real impact.

Lancaster is not buying a finished product here, but the fit is easy to see. Mihos gives the Stormers a right-handed option who can spell a center fielder, back up a shortstop, or move around the lineup without forcing a wholesale shuffle. In Atlantic League terms, that flexibility matters because injuries and roster churn can expose a club fast, especially up the middle where range and reliability are hard to replace.

The move reads as a low-risk bet with a clear upside lane. Mihos is still early in his career, but Lancaster has added a player whose profile matches what teams often chase in this league, versatility, athleticism, and a bat that has already shown it can flash against top-end competition. If the Stormers needed a splash, this is not that. If they needed a useful piece who can help them patch multiple spots while the 2026 roster comes together, this looks like a smart place to start.
