The pair could still land a punch, but they were no longer stringing enough of them together against the very best.

The breakup now reshapes the men’s draw in the short term because it removes a familiar top-tier obstacle and sends both players back into the market with clear needs. Stupaczuk needs a partner who can keep his aggression from turning into chaos when the rallies get sticky. Yanguas needs someone who can help him hold the middle of the court and finish points with more authority. That is the real issue here: not talent, but fit.
